Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Why does your church meet in a café?
We are all about creating community. We have found that some of the best places for community to thrive, and relationships to be built is in relaxed, comfortable settings such as homes, restaurants and cafes. Historically speaking, the early church met this way for the first 300 years of its existence. When you come, we don’t want you to feel like you are being pressured or made to feel uncomfortable. Just be yourself, enjoy your surroundings and let new friendships begin.
Q. How should I dress when I come to a service?
In clothing! That’s about our only rule. God looks at the heart of man, not the outward appearance. We are a casual, laid back community. If you are comfortable in jeans and a tee shirt or you’d rather wear a suit and tie, that is completely up to you. You’ll find our Pastor preaching in shorts and flip flops in the summer because, well, that’s how he dresses during the rest of the week… and we just want you to see us for who we are so you can be who you are!
Q. What kind of music do you play?
We play a mixture of music that ranges from contemporary, to folk, to rock, to traditional hymns. You will hear everything from guitars and drums to ukuleles and acoustic box drums. Many of the songs you will hear can be heard on contemporary Christian radio but you will hear a lot of music written by our praise band and worship leader.
Q. What denomination are you?
We are Southern Baptist. You can find out more about that and what we believe by visiting www.sbc.net and www.sbc.net/bfm2000/bfm2000.asp
